OFFICIAL RULES
ELIGIBILITY: The NY Knicks Shirt Cannon/Trivia Game Challenge (“Challenge”) is open to legal residents of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania, 18 or older. Employees and other workers, including temporary employees, freelancers and independent contractors, of MSGN Holdings, L.P. (“Sponsor”), MSG Networks, Inc., MSG Entertainment Group, LLC, MSG Sports, LLC, New York Knicks, LLC (“Knicks”), the National Basketball Association and its member teams and NBA Properties, Inc. (collectively, “NBA Entities”), and all of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate families (parent, child, spouse or sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and those living in their same households, whether or not related) of such individuals are not eligible to enter or win. By participating, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are binding and final on matters relating to this Challenge. Challenge is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.
CHALLENGE PERIOD: The Challenge will be available for play during Knicks games broadcast on the MSG Network during the 2022-2023 regular season (each, a “Game,” collectively, “Challenge Period”).
OVERVIEW: The Challenge will consist of two components: (i) a shirt matching memory game (“Shirt Game), and (ii) trivia game (“Trivia Game”). For each Game, a participant can earn up to 10 points per round and a maximum total of 40 points for the Challenge for any Game. At the conclusion of the Challenge Period, participants will be eligible for prizes based on the total number of points earned for the entire Challenge Period. In addition, participants who earn the highest number of points for a Game will be entered into that Game’s drawing for the chance to win that Game’s Daily Prize (as defined below).
If you have not already done so, download the MSG GO application to your smart phone and follow the directions provided to set-up an account. Downloading the application is free. You will need to verify that you currently subscribe to a cable or satellite service that offers the MSG Network channels.
TO PLAY THE SHIRT GAME: During any Game, once you have logged into your account, tap on the “Shirt Cannon” tab and follow the directions to play the Shirt Game. You can play the Shirt Game two (2) times during any Game. You will be awarded points based on your performance, for a maximum of 10 points per round per Game.
TO PLAY THE TRIVIA GAME: During any Game, once you have logged into your account, tap on the “Trivia” tab and follow the directions to play the Trivia Game. You can play the Trivia Game two (2) times during any Game. You can be awarded points for answering the trivia questions correctly, for a maximum of 10 points per round per Game.
POINT SCORES: Point scores displayed in the app may not be accurate or in real-time. Sponsor reserves the right to alter the point scores due to technical issues or if there has been unsportsmanlike or other behavior prohibited by these Official Rules. A participant is not a winner even if the app or notification should so indicate unless and until Sponsor has verified the participant and his/her point total and officially announced such participant as a winner.
GAME PRIZE DRAWING: One (1) potential winner will be selected in a random drawing following the end of each Game from all eligible entries received for that Game. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received for the applicable drawing. Nonwinning entries from one (1) Game’s drawing will not be included in any other Game’s drawing. Sponsor’s decision with respect to winner determination is final and binding.
WINNER NOTIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS: Potential Game Prize winner(s) will be notified by phone and/or e-mail with instructions on how to claim the prize and must respond to the initial notification within the time period stated in that notification.
Potential winners may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release within seven (7) days of date of notification in order to claim prize. If any potential winner does not respond to the initial notification within the time period stated, a prize or prize notification is returned as undelivered, a potential winner cannot be contacted, or fails to sign and return all required documents within the required time period or is not in compliance with these Official Rules, such potential winner may be disqualified and forfeits the prize. In the event that a potential Game Prize winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor may award the prize to an alternate potential winner by random drawing from among all remaining eligible entries received for that Game.
CHALLENGE GRAND PRIZE WINNER DETERMINATION: Potential Challenge Prize winners will be determined following the end of the Challenge Period based on the number of valid points earned during the Challenge Period. In the event more than one participant reaches the Grand Prize Tier, the prize will be divided equally among all eligible participants.
PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES (“ARV”):
Game Prize (one (1) per Game): Knicks T-Shirt. ARV: $25 each.
Challenge Prizes
- Grand Prize Tier (2,000 points or more): $10,000.00 (to be divided equally among all Grand Prize winners).
- Second Prize Tier (1,250 – 1,999 points): Knicks Hoodie. ARV: $50.00.
- Third Prize Tier (500 – 1,249 points): Knicks Basketball Hot/Cold Pack (to be determined by Sponsor). ARV: $8.00 each.
- Fourth Tier (250 – 499 points): Knicks Luggage Tag. ARV: $3.00 each.
Total ARV of all Challenge Prizes depends on the number of participants and number of points earned during the Challenge Period.
Any participant who scores less than 250 points for the Challenge Period will not be eligible for a Challenge Prize. Any game-related items provided as a prize will not be game used/worn. Exact participant(s) of any autographed items will be determined by Sponsor.
Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied. Prize recipients may not substitute, assign or transfer prize or redeem prize for cash, but Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute prize (or portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value. Prize recipients are responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes, as well as any other costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided. All prize details are at Sponsor’s sole discretion.
CHALLENGE PRIZE REDEMPTION: Following the conclusion of the Challenge Period, participants will be sent an email (from msgnetworks@probabilityworks.com) with the number of eligible points accrued for the entire Challenge Period. Participants will have until the date indicated in the email to follow the directions provided to redeem their points for one or more Challenge Prizes (dependent on the total number of points accrued). Tier 2-4 Challenge Prizes will be sent via U.S. mail to the address provided at time of redemption. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. Prizes will be supplied by Probability LLC, Sponsor’s prize fulfillment partner.
In addition, potential Challenge Grand Prize winners may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability and Publicity Release within the time period stated in that notification in order to claim prize.
If a potential Challenge Prize winner does not comply with the initial notification within the time period stated, the prize or prize notification is returned as undelivered, the potential Challenge Prize winner cannot be contacted, or fails to sign and return all required documents within the required time period or is not in compliance with these Official Rules, the potential Challenge Prize winner may be disqualified and forfeits the prize.
PUBLICITY GRANT: Prize recipients, by acceptance of a prize, except where legally prohibited, grants permission for Sponsor and its designees to use his/her name, address (city and state), photograph, voice and/or other likeness and prize information, for advertising, trade and promotional purposes, in any manner, in any and all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide in perpetuity, without further compensation or notification to, or permission from, winner.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: Challenge play or points generated by script, macro or other automated means or by any means which subvert the game play process are void. Participants release, discharge, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sponsor, MSG Networks, Inc., MSG Entertainment Group, LLC, MSG Sports, LLC, the Knicks, the NBA Entities, and all of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies and all of their respective promotional partners, directors, officers, employees and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any liability for any damages, injury or losses (including death) to any person, or property, of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize. Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, inaccurate, stolen, misdirected, undelivered or garbled entries, game play, points, email or other communications of any kind; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Challenge, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the Challenge, the functionality of the Shirt Game or the Trivia Game, the tabulation of points, the announcement of the prizes, or in any Challenge-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Challenge. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to participants’ or to any other person’s mobile or other device related to or resulting from participating in this Challenge or downloading materials from or use of the app. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the Challenge or the app or who are in violation of these Official Rules or who act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified and all associated entries will be void. Should any portion of the Challenge be, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, compromised by virus, worms, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of entries, including, but not limited to, due to a pandemic, widespread illness, or national crisis, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Challenge and, if terminated, at its discretion, (i) determine the Game Prize winner(s) for among all eligible entries received up to time of such action or as otherwise deemed fair and appropriate by Sponsor, and/or (ii) determine the Challenge Prize winners using all non-suspect points earned prior to action taken or as otherwise deemed fair and appropriate by Sponsor. In the event that production, seeding, printing, mechanical, technical, human, or other errors cause more than stated number of prizes to be available and/or claimed, Sponsor reserves the right to award the stated number of prizes by random drawing among all eligible claimants who submitted legitimately received valid prize claims. In no event will Sponsor be liable for awarding more than the stated number of prizes. In the event of a dispute regarding entries received from multiple users having the same e-mail account, the authorized subscriber of the e-mail account at the time of entry will be deemed to be the participant and must comply with these Official Rules. Authorized account subscriber is the natural person who is assigned the e-mail address by the Internet Service Provider (ISP), on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses.
DATA COLLECTION AND USE: Any information collected in connection with a Challenge will be used in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy, available at http://www.msgnetworks.com/test/privacy. By entering, you are automatically opted in to receive marketing and promotional emails from Sponsor. If you do not wish to receive these emails, you can opt-out at any time by following the unsubscribe directions included in the email.
WINNERS LIST: For the names of the Challenge Prize winners (available thirty (30) days following end of Challenge), send a #10 self-addressed stamped envelope to: NY Knicks Shirt Cannon/Trivia Challenge 2021-22 Prize Winners, MSG Networks, 11 Pennsylvania Plaza, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10001, Attention: Brad Polk, for receipt no later than sixty (60) days following end of the Challenge.
