WESTCHESTER KNICKS ACQUIRE RA’SHAD JAMES AND KEITH WRIGHT

WHITE PLAINS, February 23, 2016 – The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, announced today that the team has acquired the returning player rights to White Plains native Ra’shad James and a sixth round pick in the 2016 NBA D-League Draft from the Reno Bighorns in exchange for forward Gani Lawal and Westchester’s own original 2016 fourth round pick.

James (6-1, 193) averaged 22.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 46 games over two seasons (2013-14, 2014-15) with the Reno Bighorns. The guard attended White Plains Senior High School, where he was a teammate of current Delaware 87er, Sean Kilpatrick.

Westchester also announced the acquisition of forward Keith Wright from the Austin Spurs in exchange for forward Wesley Saunders. Wright and Saunders were teammates at Harvard University in 2011-12. In 20 games for Austin this season, Wright has averaged 1.3 points and 2.4 rebounds over 8.8 minutes.

Both trades are pending the successful completion of physicals.
