Dear Optimum subscribers –
We miss you. We want to return to Optimum’s lineup so that you can get back to watching your favorite teams – the Knicks, Rangers, Islanders and Devils – on MSG Networks. We’re not alone – a bipartisan group of federal, state and local government officials from NY, NJ and CT have all called for an immediate resolution so you don’t miss another game.
Since Optimum dropped our local sports programming we’ve tried repeatedly to end this impasse and deliver for our fans – offering Optimum:
- The same terms as our last agreement
- The same terms to which we recently agreed with another major operator
- The same terms to which Optimum recently agreed with the YES Network
- An offer to enter into binding arbitration, working with a neutral third party to resolve our differences
If Optimum agrees to binding arbitration, we will allow them to IMMEDIATELY bring back our networks while the process unfolds.
Unfortunately, nothing we’ve offered has been good enough. Optimum has shown no motivation or sense of urgency to resolve our dispute. That has left you without the ability to watch your favorite teams right in the middle of the exciting NBA and NHL seasons while forking over money for content you’re not receiving. If Optimum is not going to carry your local teams’ games, then your monthly bills should reflect an automatic and full refund for programming you’re no longer receiving.
Here’s how you can help: reach out to your local elected officials, lawmakers, and attorney general and let them know their efforts matter and how important this issue is to you – that you want the games restored immediately or an automatic and full refund reflected in your monthly bills.
