Islanders First Game at UBS Arena on Saturday, November 20th
Coverage to Include an Expanded One-Hour Pregame Show, Starting at 6pm ET on
MSG+, Before the Islanders Face off Against Calgary in their Inaugural Game at UBS Arena
New York, NY (November 19, 2021) – MSG Networks today announced special coverage plans for the Islanders’ highly anticipated home opener against Calgary, which will be the team’s first game ever played at the new UBS Arena on Saturday, November 20th. MSG+ will have an expanded one-hour pregame show starting at 6pm ET. The opening night ceremony inside the building will then begin at 7pm ET, with the puck officially dropping shortly thereafter for the first time in the franchise’s new home arena.
Some additional coverage highlights throughout the night will include:
- Interview with Islanders Co-Owner Jon Ledecky
- Interviews with Islanders greats and 4x Stanley Cup Champions Ken Morrow, Bobby Nystrom, Denis Potvin and John Tonelli
- Video of the first fan walking through the doors at UBS Arena
- Live coverage of the pregame ceremonial puck drop at center ice
Emmy Award-winning play-by-play announcer Brendan Burke and game analyst and Islanders legend Butch Goring will be on the call for the long-awaited home opener. Shannon Hogan will host pregame, postgame and intermission coverage live from the arena, alongside studio analyst AJ Mleczko.
The game will also be available for viewing on MSG GO, the network’s live streaming and video on demand platform.
