Lineup Next Week to Feature Memorable Games Each Night from Patrick Ewing’s Knicks and
College Career at Georgetown, Including the Hoyas’ National Championship Win Over Houston in ‘84
Programming to Include an Exclusive Interview with Patrick Ewing on
the “MSG 150 at Home” at 7:00pm ET on Wednesday, July 8th
New York, NY (July 2, 2020) – MSG Networks (NYSE: MSGN) today announced it will be dedicating a full week of programming next week around Knicks legend and Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing, starting on Monday, July 6th.
The lineup throughout the week will celebrate the storied career of the Knicks center and give fans a great look back at his best on-court performances. The coverage will be highlighted by re-airings of some of the top games from Ewing’s career beginning at 7:30pm ET each evening. Viewers will get to relive Ewing’s dominance in games from his impressive Rookie of the Year campaign in ’86, memorable playoff series’ in the 90’s and more.
MSG Networks will also air two of Ewing’s most notable college games from his time at Georgetown. Fans can tune in at 7:30pm ET on Wednesday, July 8th to watch Ewing face off against Houston in the 1984 NCAA Championship, which the Hoyas won 84-75 for the program’s first and only title. And then at 9:30pm ET, the network will air the famous “Sweater Game” between Georgetown and St. John’s at Madison Square Garden in 1985. The matchup between the Big East rivals marked the first time that The Garden hosted the top two college basketball teams in the country as Ewing and the second ranked Hoyas defeated top ranked St. John’s, 85-69.
As part of the programming marathon, Ewing will join Bill Pidto and Alan Hahn for an exclusive interview on the “MSG 150 at Home” airing at 7:00pm ET on Wednesday, July 8th. The network will then continue its Ewing coverage over the weekend with a full day and night of special programming and game telecasts on Saturday, July 11th, from 10:00am ET to 11:00pm ET.
