New York, NY (September 24, 2021) – MSG Networks, the television home of the New Jersey Devils, today announced the team’s telecast schedule for the upcoming 2021-22 NHL season, which will include a total of 73 regular season games and four preseason games. The first telecast will be on Wednesday, September 29th at 7:00pm ET on MSG+, when the Devils kick-off their preseason schedule on the road against the Washington Capitals. The team opens their regular season at home versus the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday, October 15th, with coverage getting underway at 6:30pm on MSG+.
Emmy Award winning announcer Steve Cangialosi returns for his 11th season as the play-by-play voice of the Devils and will again be joined by Devils legend and 3-time Stanley Cup Champion Ken Daneyko, now in his eighth season as in-game analyst. Erika Wachter will return as host for all pregame, intermission and postgame coverage on MSG+, alongside studio analyst and former Devils captain Bryce Salvador.
Devils analyst Ken Daneyko on the upcoming season
“With the Devils season right around the corner, I’m getting pretty fired up. This young group grew tremendously last year. They have a lot of young players who are getting better and better, which includes Jack Hughes and company. General Manager Tom Fitzgerald has brought in help for some of these young guys, which I think they needed to do, especially on the back end with prized free agent Dougie Hamilton. I can’t wait to see what he’s going to add, along with 6’5” Ryan Graves, who is going to be real solid in his own zone. And if they get good goaltending, I think this team can surprise. I’m really looking forward to calling the action. I think this Devils team is going to be much improved.”
With the NHL returning to a full schedule this season, the league will revert back to their previous divisional alignment, with the Devils competing again in the Metropolitan Division in the Eastern Conference.
MSG Networks’ complete Devils telecast schedule is below. All games airing on MSG Networks, in addition to the network’s pregame and postgame coverage, will also be available on MSG GO, the network’s live streaming and video on demand platform for smartphones, tablets and computers.
