MSG NETWORKS TO AIR COMMEMORATIVE PRIDE MONTH PROGRAMMING, PRESENTED BY DELTA AIRLINES, THROUGHOUT THE MONTH OF JUNE
Commemorative Coverage To Include Original Features Spotlighting Courageous LGBTQIA+ Individuals, Interstitial Content Highlighting LGBTQIA+ Trailblazers in Sports, and GLAAD Media Award nominated special “Unapologetic: A Conversation on Pride Presented by Delta Air Lines.”
New York, NY (June 2, 2023) – MSG Networks today announced a month-long lineup of special programming, presented by Delta Airlines, to celebrate Pride Month and amplify the voices and stories of the LGBTQIA+ community throughout June. MSG Networks’ coverage will include a mix of original programming and a daily interstitial series that highlights the people, places and events that contribute to LGBTQIA+ history in New York City.
The diverse slate of original content will include:
- A spotlight on the NYC Pride Basketball League Fantasy All Stars Game, where the network will join Knicks alum as they visit the one-day tournament at Chelsea Piers and celebrate with the players.
- A feature on Covenant House’s annual gala, showcasing Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson receiving the non-profit’s 2023 Beacon of Hope Award as well as LGBTQIA+ teens enjoying the special night alongside Knicks and Rangers alumni, such as Rod Strickland and Tom Laidlaw.
- A profile on New York University’s women’s volleyball coach and proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Andrew Brown. Brown is the only male coach in the University Athletic Association and since starting at NYU in 2018, he has brought the Violets to the playoffs each season, including the NCAA Final Four this year.
As part of the lineup, MSG Networks will air the GLAAD Media Award nominated, “Unapologetic: A Conversation on Pride Presented by Delta Air Lines,” a special featuring powerful and honest conversations among LGBTQIA+ athletes in sports.
All Pride Month programming airing in June will also be available on MSG GO, the network’s live streaming and video on demand platform.
