MSG Networks Announces 2022-23 New York Rangers Telecast Schedule
MSG Networks to Telecast 69 Regular Season Games and 5 Preseason Games
Rangers Legend Henrik Lundqvist to Return as Studio Analyst for Select Games Throughout the Season
New York, NY (September 23, 2022) – MSG Networks, the television home of the New York Rangers, today announced the team’s telecast schedule for the upcoming 2022-23 NHL season, which will include a total of 69 regular season games and 5 preseason games. After their run to the Eastern Conference Finals last season, the Rangers will return to the ice and open their preseason at home versus the New York Islanders on Monday, September 26th at 7:00pm ET on MSG Network. The team’s first regular season telecast will be on Thursday, October 13th when the Rangers go on the road to take on the Minnesota Wild, with coverage getting underway at 7:30pm ET on MSG Network.
Sam Rosen, the recipient of the 2016 Foster Hewitt Memorial Award from the Hockey Hall of Fame, returns for his 39th season as the play-by-play voice of the Rangers, alongside analyst Joe Micheletti, back for his 17th season. Michelle Gingras will again provide in-game analysis, while also conducting player interviews throughout the pregame, postgame and each intermission. Host John Giannone will be joined in studio by former Rangers goalie and Emmy Award winning studio analyst Steve Valiquette for the network’s pregame, postgame and intermission coverage, along with legendary Rangers goalie and franchise icon Henrik Lundqvist for select games throughout the season.
Versatile play-by-play announcer Kenny Albert returns for his 27th season as the radio voice of the Rangers, calling play-by-play action on ESPN 98.7 radio, with former Rangers captain Dave Maloney handling the analysis. Maloney will also contribute to the network’s television coverage during the season. Don La Greca will serve as the back-up play-by-play announcer for games on ESPN 98.7.
MSG Networks’ complete Rangers telecast schedule is below, which includes select games on MSG Sportsnet (MSGSN), the network that was formerly named MSG+. All games airing on MSG Networks, in addition to the network’s pregame and postgame coverage, will also be available on MSG GO, the network’s live streaming and video on demand platform.
