MSG Networks Announces 2021-22 New York Islanders Telecast Schedule
MSG Networks to Telecast 70 Regular Season Games and Three Preseason Games
Every Islanders Game, Pregame and Postgame Show Airing on MSG Networks to Stream on MSG GO
New York, NY (September 24, 2021) – MSG Networks, the television home of the New York Islanders, today announced the team’s telecast schedule for the upcoming 2021-22 NHL season, which will include a total of 70 regular season games and three preseason games. The first telecast will be on Sunday, September 26th at 7:00pm ET on MSG+, when the Islanders kick-off their preseason schedule on the road against the New York Rangers. The team travels to Carolina to open their regular season against the Hurricanes on Thursday, October 14th, with coverage getting underway at 6:30pm ET on MSG+.
Play-by-play announcer Brendan Burke returns for his sixth season, alongside Islanders legend and four-time Stanley Cup Champion Butch Goring, now in his 12th season as game analyst. Shannon Hogan, back for her eighth season as the team’s pregame, intermission and postgame host, will again be joined on the broadcasts by studio analyst and decorated Olympian AJ Mleczko.
“Lou Lamoriello [President of Hockey Operations and General Manager] has made a couple of off-season changes to enhance the Islanders’ chances for a Stanley Cup,” said Islanders analyst Butch Goring. “With an eager team and the best hockey building in the world, this team is on a mission. Look for special moments and the proper finish for this season.”
With the NHL returning to a full schedule this season, the league will revert back to their previous divisional alignment, with the Islanders competing again in the Metropolitan Division in the Eastern Conference.
MSG Networks’ complete Islanders telecast schedule is below. The Islanders will host the Calgary Flames for their first game at UBS Arena at Belmont Park on Saturday, November 20th at 7:00pm ET.
All games airing on MSG Networks, in addition to the network’s pregame and postgame coverage, will also be available on MSG GO, the network’s live streaming and video on demand platform for smartphones, tablets and computers.
