From the 2019-20 Season in Celebration of the Team’s Upcoming Return to the Ice
New York, NY (July 15, 2020) – With the National Hockey League set to return to the ice, MSG Networks (NYSE: MSGN) today announced the official telecast schedule for the New York Islanders for their upcoming Stanley Cup Qualifiers playoff series against the Florida Panthers. Game 1 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 1st at 4:00pm ET, with pregame coverage getting underway at 3:30pm ET on MSG+.
All of the Islanders’ opening round games versus the Panthers will be held at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, one of the two NHL designated hub cities for this year’s playoffs. Under the new best-of-five matchup qualifying format, the 7th-seeded Islanders will be assigned the home team in Games 1, 2 and 5, with the 10th-seeded Panthers taking the ice as the home team in Games 3 and 4.
The full telecast schedule for the Islanders’ opening playoff series airing on MSG+ is below, along with the team’s exhibition game versus the Rangers at 8:00pm ET on Wednesday, July 29th. The games will also be available for viewing on MSG GO, the network’s live streaming and video on demand platform for smartphones, tablets and computers.

Play-by-play announcer Brendan Burke and analyst Butch Goring will call the game action remotely each night from MSG Networks’ studios in New York City. Shannon Hogan will host pregame, postgame and intermission coverage throughout the series from the network’s studio as well, alongside studio analyst AJ Mleczko.
In anticipation of the return of hockey, MSG+ will be airing two new Islanders preview shows on Wednesday, July 29th and Friday, July 31st, featuring interviews with Coach Trotz and various Islanders players. During each show, Islanders broadcasters Brendan Burke, Butch Goring and Shannon Hogan will break down the upcoming qualifying matchup and provide fans with the latest news and info on the team before they get set to return to the ice.
MSG+ will also be re-airing all of the Islanders’ wins from the 2019-20 regular season over the next two weeks, which will provide fans with a great look back at the team’s run to the playoffs. Viewers will get to re-watch the team’s wins consecutively from the beginning of the season, starting with the Islanders’ first win in October against Winnipeg.
